Las Vegas: Hotels, on the "Strip":

Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino: vvv
Very cool hotel. If your there in the summer, you need to check out the "beach" with it's own wave machine! Hotel room was very well appointed. Lots of slots and tables. Sits on the site of the old Hacienda Hotel/Casino at the south end of the strip, just down from the famous "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign. Next door is the Luxor Hotel, walking distance.   (Hacienda Casino Craps Dice)

Luxor Las Vegas Resort & Casino: vvv
This is the only hotel & casino in the world shaped like a 30 story pyramid. The interior is ancient Egypt and the hotel room was nice & comfortably decorated. (We were only here for a quick overnight business stay). You won't go hungry eating at the buffet. Slots & tables galore.

Rio All Suites Resort & Casino: vvv
You'll think it's Carnival time all the time at the Rio. They have what is probably the best buffet in Las Vegas and a FREE show in the "sky" several times daily. You can pay to participate in the show, we did, and it was a blast or you can view it for free and hope you get one of the many necklace's thrown out to the audience. The beach was a nice place to cool off & there are several lounging pools.

The hotel room was VERY spacious (every hotel room is a suite), which include a seperate changing area, in room safes, refrigerator and other amenities.

With over 1700 slots & video slots plus dozens of tables, the casino is very, very large and you are sure to find your niche. The lounge at the top of the hotel has cool music & drinks and even better views of Las Vegas and the valley, a "must see" especially at night. The Rio offers several night clubs, so your bound to find one that fits your style. The Rio rates high with our staff.

(The Rio is situated on Flamingo Rd., on the west side of I-15, just a short walk to the strip but we recommend the shuttle service the Rio offers to & from the strip).

New York New York Hotel & Casino vv
With a "Statue of Liberty", "Brooklyn Bridge" and very familiar "sky line", you'd think you're in the "Big Apple", walk inside and your sure your in New York City. This hotel tried hard and succeeded, (our opinion), in recreating as much of Manhattan as possible. There is a very good steak house, plus slots and table games to suit everyone. If you want to have some outdoor fun, try their roller coaster..we didn't, but it looked like fun for those of you that love 'coasters. When your hitting the tables or trying your luck at the slots, the casino area is just plain fun!!! We can't say anything about the Hotel's rooms since we did not stay overnight here...yet!

Paris Las Vegas Resort & Casino vvv
This is our favorite hotel on the strip!!! With an Effiel Tower a third of the size of the original, this resort is unmistakeable on the strip, directly opposite the Bellagio Hotel. Our staff has stayed here nearly a dozen times since it opened a few years back and everytime, they come back thrilled at the experience.

The rooms are very nicely decorated and appointed, and if having an in room safe is for you, then you will not be dissapointed. The views of the strip are breathtaking. If your fortunate enough to get a suite, (you'll know the suite when you see the door, it starts with "P"), you'll never want to leave. A seperate bedroom, living room and two bathrooms, plus a television that automatically raises up at the foot of the large bed!! (it did in our suite!).

The casino is a Paris street theme and you'll think it's late afternoon no matter what time of day or night it is. There are over 1700 slot machines and 90 table games.

If your hungry, there are any number of restaurants and cafe's plus the buffet. Our favorite for a casual breakfast, lunch or dinner is Le Cafe Ile St. Louis, which is an "outdoor" cafe right on the casino floor. If your looking for a fine dining experience, we highly recommend Les Artistes Steakhouse, the food and service are absolutely 5 Diamonds and priced accordingly.

What's great about the Paris, is that it is connected to Bally's, (see next paragragh). You owe it to yourself to stay at least once at this beautiful hotel.

Bally's Hotel Casino Resort vvv
Bally's has been on the strip for decades and continues to be a great hotel to stay while in Las Vegas. The rooms are large, clean and comfortably appointed. There is an in room safe for your valuables and high speed internet as well as other amenities to make your stay enjoyable. Our staff definetly enjoyed their stay here.

The casino itself is huge, with over 60 table games and more than enough slot machines to satisfy any player. If your feeling lucky, and have the funds, you may want to try out Bally's Champagne Slots Lounge, which has the first $1,000 slot machines in the country!

There is plenty of food offerings from their 24 snack bar to fine dining. If you have time, you should check out the Jubilee show, it is true Las Vegas glitz and glamour...great show! While in Bally's you can do some shopping and walk over to the Paris Hotel & Casino, which is connected to Bally's, through a Paris street themed walkway where there are more shops and restaurants.
